I don't see the point in it really. So many people who don't get out or socialize much would take this a bit far if it happend.

No point to this at all and people would just disband marriages over and over to max out a title towards Kind of a Big Deal.

You are handing a tool to child molesters to make it easier to attack children. Would it be cheesy fun? no realy whats the point? It is an adventure based game. not a RPG. You dont go get a normal job have kids and settle down on the farm. You go kill charr, shiro and abbodon. These places are not where you would want to start a familly.
again Get Help! Get Therapy.

Hmm Mr Rat, I dont see me contradicting myself at all. If I'd said, oh it would be fun, and then later said, its not that fun, then id be contradicting myself. Im also sad to find that you give the players of GW so little credit by saying they cant tell the difference between real life and the virtual world.
By the way you so wantonly dole out the flames, "get help", "seek therapy", it seems its u who cant seem to differentiate between those who just want to have a laugh and the sickos you seem to be so familiar with. If you dont want ppl of unknown origin in contact with each other, why dont you close down the internet, ban online games, cos believe me, even without the marriage gimmick, there are still paedo sickos out there anyway, preying on god knows who. But thats neither here nor there, I was referring to the concept being fun, and if you look at it lightheartedly, it is, even if other ppl think its pointless.
Me, get help? Look in the mirror mate!

why some ppl are so upset
it's the char that's gonna marry not them lol
anyway i often though how my necro/ele/ranger/whatever looks good with someone elses character and i though to myself hay i want to marry them xD
but not in the way u described in the first post
i dont need quests rewards special island and so on
just some mark that my woman is married (and avoiding stalking naked wammos xD)
p.s. and im not gonna marry a random suspicios player
would definetely be a friend or guildie

This is a real stupid idea. Get a life if you really feel the need to get married in a game. What's next? Blind dates in WoW? Come on, ffs... If you need someone to talk to, PM me, I may find a doctor that can help you if you're losing grip on reality. I'm dead serious.
It's threads like this that give the Suggestions forum a bad name, because it's only one's greedy desire for such a function in their wild imaginations... If that's the case, I woulda asked for guns in GW long ago with Bow Skills...
But honestly, can we try to come up with something that is worth Gaile Gray's time to read and consider?

Imagine a 40 year old greasy guy saying that he is a girl and ugh... do I need a further explanation? And believe me... anet is never going to do something like that... I know that for sure. Once again, I apologize if I offended someone and I apologize to OP for flaming his/her idea.

With 78% of the poll NOT voting for marriages ingame, I believe the answer to this question is quite clear.

/notsigned with a wolverine on top. I see the value behind the idea, but instead of asking Anet to spend a lot of time implementing something that very few people would take advantage of, how about getting them to fulfill some of the promises they've already made (improved trading system, variable profession hero, grind-free economy etc.)?

Well since you can have characters of both genders and guilds, friends list, etc are already per account, I'm guessing marriages, if implemented, will also be account based ...
/meh otherwise, as I doubt I'll be using it except as a joke.

I'm sorry but i just can't see this happen. too much controversy with same sex marriage, titles, items for it, arguements arising from even sillier things than now....
